THE MISLEADING SUMMARY WAS WRITTEN BY BONTA AND IS PRESENTLY BEEING CHALLENGED IN COURT : Requires public and private schools and colleges to: restrict gender-segregated facilities like bathrooms to persons assigned that gender at birth; prohibit transgender female students (grades 7+) from participating in female sports. Repeals law allowing students to participate in activities and use facilities consistent with their gender identity. • Requires schools to notify parents whenever a student under 18 asks to be treated as a gender differing from school records without exception for student safety. • Prohibits gender-affirming health care for transgender patients under 18, even if parents consent or treatment is medically recommended. Summary of estimate by Legislative Analyst and Director of Finance of fiscal impact on state and local governments: Potentially minor savings in state and local health care costs of up to millions of dollars annually from no longer paying for prohibited services for individuals under the age of 18. These savings could be affected by many other impacts, such as individuals seeking treatment later in life. Minor administrative and workload costs to schools, colleges, and universities, up to several millions of dollars initially. Potential, but unknown, cost pressures to state and local governments related to federal fiscal penalties if the measure results in federally
funded schools, colleges, universities, or health care providers being deemed out of compliance with federal law.

The sex industry encompasses a global system of violence, exploitation, and gender inequality that harms some of the most vulnerable in society. SIGN PETITION HERE
The sexual exploitation industry is driven by the demand of men and necessitates a constant supply of women and children who are sold for the profit of pimps, traffickers, and other predatory stakeholders. Some are trafficked through means of force, fraud, or coercion, while others are seduced by the deceptive “empowerment" narrative in our culture, and still others are compelled to join the sex industry in order to survive. Regardless of how one enters the industry, virtually all experience the same exploitative dynamics that are systemic within it.
(Daily Wire) A California bill that would make purchasing child sex a felony up from a misdemeanor moved forward on Tuesday, but not before Democrats made significant changes.
The bipartisan bill would raise solicitation of a minor from a misdemeanor to a felony punishable by up to four years in prison, and a fine of up to $25,000. The bill would also require a person convicted of soliciting a minor to register as a sex offender for 10 years.

California students are being exposed to the most vile and disgusting books on school library shelves. For years, parents have been working to shield ALL children–not just the younger students, but ALL students at every grade level–from pornographic materials.
State Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh has introduced a bill (SB 1435) that only safeguards students from viewing obscene pornographic materials in grades K-8, leaving those in grades 9-12 vulnerable to exposure.
Which of our children shall we allow to be exposed to the pornographic and obscene materials in our school libraries? We insist that every student must be protected.
Senator Ochoa Bogh should amend her bill to include all students in grades K-12, without delay. Waiting until next year to extend protection to grades 9 through 12 is an insufficient and misguided approach.
Take action now to stand for ALL students. Don’t settle for partial protection. Demand that Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh amend SB 1435 to include grades 9 through 12.
Let’s ensure no child is left unprotected.
TAKE ACTION TODAY by calling the Senator’s office and urging her to amend SB 1435 to protect ALL students, at every grade level. Waiting another year is not acceptable. We must protect ALL students from pornography in school libraries.

The U.S. Department of Education (DOE) is proposing to amend the law that protects students with disabilities (IDEA) to eliminate the requirement for informed parental consent before the school makes a Medicaid claim on behalf of their child.
Parents are at risk of losing their ability to steer and access medical and mental health care of disabled children to schools that will bypass their informed consent. Why? Because the DOE believes it’s simply an “administrative burden” to get consent before billing Medicaid for services. Disabled children need care, parents need support from schools, and schools need funding. Parents are being pushed aside while schools are being called “home” for medical purposes.
Click here to take action by making a public comment that must be addressed by the DOE.
Combined with ever-lowering minor consent laws, the DOE proposed regulation would take us all one step closer toward parents being removed from decision-making in their children’s care. Before this next school year starts, parents have to do their homework and take action. But don’t worry, SHF will help you ace this test.
